DEARBORN
July 23, 1931: "A fire was reported south from the Dearborn look-out station, yesterday. Ranger Harris investigated and found the fire on private land in the hills near Craig." (The Augusta News)
July 30, 1931: "Last Sunday Ernest Tommie Mirehouse who has been look-out at the Dearborn station, was taken suddenly ill at the station and was helped out on horse to Elk Creek ranger station. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Walker brought him home. He was taken to Deaconess Hospital and operated on immediately for appendicitis, the time being three o'clock in the morning. He is improving and his principle complaint is that his chest is bruised from bending over the saddle horn as he rode down from the lookout station. His mother is with is with him in the Falls."
