September 22, 1934: "Charles Burtsfield, who has been stationed at the lookout station on Moose Peak during the fire season, returned home last Friday. The lookout having been closed for this year. He returned the first of the week to do road work in the Flathead National Forest." (The Daily Inter Lake)
August 24, 1951: "The fire danger in the district climbed high enough a week ago to require manning Moose lookout. Frank Kohoutek made the 12 mile hike Sunday to the 7,521 foot high peak." (Hungry Horse News)
