October 6, 1921: "Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Hutt and son and Frank Crause, North Fork homesteaders, arrived in the city Sunday. Mr. Crause has been employed the past two months by the forest department as a lookout at Red Meadow. Mrs. Crause has been employed at the Soldiers Home most of the summer." (The Columbian)
