July 5, 1956: "The forest service lookout crews were sent out June 25 and 26. Dean Henderson, who is a local boy, is on Green mountain." (Sandpoint News-Bulletin)

September 26, 1957: "Dean Henderson hiked out from the Green mountain lookout last Wednesday morning. He reported eight inches of snow had fallen the night before. Dean had been up at the lookout the past 73 days and said it was good to be back in town.
