November 27, 1924: "The Lewis and Clark forest has built ten miles of new trail, reconstructed 17 miles and maintained over 400 miles during the past year. New trails have been built to the Patrol Mountain and Half Dome lookouts." (Independent-Observer)

1932: "Much of the timber and wood land south of the railroad can be observed by the Lewis & Clarke Forest Lookout on Half Dome Mountain. Communication with this lookout is by means of telephone to Glacier Park and Lubec, Mont." (Annual Forestry Report, Blackfeet Indian Reservation)

October 31, 1935: "Water in the streams was probably lower than normal owing to lack of precipitation and the dry season. Yet the lookout man on Half Dome mountain was able to obtain enough water for domestic use from nearby snowbanks, whereas in former years it was always necessary to pack water to the top of the mountain, a distance of 14 miles and an elevation rise of 3,000 feet." August 22, 1968: "The second fire of the 1968 season on the Teton District of the Lewis and Clark National Forest was discovered by Half Dome Lookout Dave Dellwo on Monday, August 12. The blaze was running up through light timber on the east face of Little Plume Mountain, which is about 10 miles northwest of the town of Heart Butte." (Independent-Observer)

THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE BASE OF A 10 BY 20 FOOT LOOKOUT
HOUSE. IT IS ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF BROWNING,
12-1/2 MILES SOUTHEAST OF EAST GLACIER, 3 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST
OF BAGGER RANGER STATION, ON A HIGH ROUND TOPPED MOUNTAIN KNOWN
AS HALF DOME CRAG.
