January 28, 1957: "On basis of original profile a 30-foot tower was recommended for Webb in our December 19, 1955, letter. Examination on the ground last summer indicates that the clearing accomplished by bulldozer when the road was built, plus a 100 yard foot patrol to cover the head of Boulder Creek, which even a 50-foot tower would not cover, makes any tower unnecessary.
We wish to recommend a R-6 house to be built on an 8-foot concrete block foundation, thus providing much needed storage space. Please note that change on your copy of out December 19, 1955, memo." (Memorandum to Regional Forester from the Forest Supervisor)

The storage room door and a shutter lock were broken. The storm door was damaged and the inner door had been removed. Door glass and hinges were also damaged.
Stolen property included a gasoline camp stove, gasoline lantern, axe and other miscellaneous tools. The investigation was conducted by Deputy Sheriff Phelan and Eureka Police Chief Frank Helbien.
