July 7, 1930: "A pack string has gone in to Grubb Mountain in Pleasant valley today to establish camp for a lookout, which completes the association system of lookouts and smoke chasers in the Kalispell district, and men are being placed in the Kootenai and Cabinet districts as rapidly as possible. Each camp is equipped with 15-man outfits, and the men in charge have full authority and are instructed to enforce the state law regarding forest fires." (The Daily Inter Lake)
