June 13, 1940: "Lewis Miller, Lake View lookout.
This is a new lookout to be constructed this summer, starting next week with five CCC men under Paul Hazel, foreman. A house and 3 1/2 miles of trail and telephone line is to it will be constructed. The lookout lies on the ridge between Rock and Moose creeks." (The Choteau Acantha)
January 2, 1941: "A number of projects were worked on and completed or near completed during the summer as follows: Moose Ridge - L-4 -- T-10 Lookout House - 95 percent complete. To make the setup for the Moose Ridge Lookout complete, a telephone line from the lookout down to the Gates Park-Spotted Bear line will have to be constructed. During the season, the men in the crews building the trail and lookout house had telephone connection with the rest of the organization by means of a temporary line of emergency wire strung through the branches of trees from the camp down to the established telephone line on Rock Creek."
