July 8, 1915: "In the Quartz district, Forest Sherill is in charge. E.L. Alwayrd is stationed at St. Patrick's lookout station." (The Mineral Independent)
February 1, 1924: "Bert Wilson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, yesterday arrived in the city to make his home. Mr. Wilson was employed on the Lolo national forest, constructing a lookout post on St. Patrick's peak, last summer." (The Daily Missoulian)
September 18, 1936: "The Plains valley received a generous rainfall Sunday and Monday, and the surrounding mountain peaks were snow-capped. William Sutphin, who was stationed on St. Patrick's knob as a lookout the past summer, packed down from the peak Monday. He reported that two and one-half inches of snow fell on the peak on the level. Mr. Sutphin was the last lookout to be brought in by the Forest Service in this district." (The Missoulian)
September 19, 1940: "Lauress Fike, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Fike of Superior, left Missoula last Wednesday for Los Angeles where he is enrolled in the Anderson airplane school. Lauress spent the summer months on St. Patrick's peak as a lookout for the Forest Service. A letter from him recently received by his parents is to the effect that he is well pleased with the school." (The Mineral Independent)
