September 1, 1921: "A lookout station will be built in the Missoula forest on Quiggs peak. @0 miles south of Bonita, in one of the most valuable forestry areas of the Missoula unit. From this vantage point survey may be made of the Rock creek drainage system for practically 30 miles from its mouth. There is much valuable timber in this vicinity, in this section graze the only band of mountain sheep of any size in Montana. They are estimated at 60 in number. Three were observed grazing on the proposed lookout a few days ago. These will be protected by the foresters. They are also protected by the law, as there is a closed season on mountain sheep and goats in Montana, it being 'unlawful to hunt, shoot kill or capture them before the first day of October, 1926." September 22, 1921: "At Quigg peak, north of the Rock Creek ranger station, there is a combination lookout." (The Missoulian)
September 10, 1923: "Carter Kem of Indiana, who has been on Quigg's Peak lookout this fire season left Saturday for his home." (The Daily Missoulian)
June 22, 1926: "Jack Thurmond of Georgia arrived at the ranger station Tuesday and will be located at Quiggs Peak lookout for the summer months." (The Daily Missoulian)
