September 17, 1954: "The Saddle Mountain lookout of the Blackfoot Forest Protective Association, located northeast of Drummond, was closed last week, after being open for over two months. Mrs. Arthur Ahlin maintained the lookout this year." (The Philipsburg Mail)
July 8, 1956: "The Saddle Mountain Lookout station operated by the Blackfoot Forest Protection Assn. was opened July 5 and is maintained by a father and son team, Arthur Ahlin and Chester Ahlin, taking turns as chief fire warden and lookout maintainers in this district." (Montana Standard)
July 14, 1957: "The Saddle Mountain Lookout station, northeast of here, operated by the Blackfoot Forest Protective Assn. was opened last Monday. It will be maintained by a father and son team again this year, Arthur and Chester Ahlin. They will take turns as chief fire warden and lookout maintainer." (Montana Standard)
